Becoming Invincible

Wow INVINCIBLE. That sounds like some superhero kind of talk. But wait, who doesn't love superheroes and secretly wishes they had a superpower or at least at some point in life wanted that? ( thank you Wonder Woman - you inspired me!)

An Invincible person in my definition is a superhero! And it's a person like me and yes YOU!

( if you dare to accept the mission ) It is a person who has "overcome and not been defeated".

A person who has overcome and defeated: challenges and trials as well as negative thoughts, patterns, and habits. ( time and time again! ) One who has failed but not allowed themselves to give up, so they tried again. A person who got back up again and again and kept going kept trying kept growing with courage they didn't even know they had! ( sounds like you too right?- if even just a little)

Do you want to be more invincible? ( and remember it's becoming because you are never fully invincible in this life but you can become as much or as little of it as you choose) If you accept the mission here's what it looks like to be(come) invincible:

1. You will be(come): strong-willed, ( that is not the same as stubborn) tenacious, firm, strong, resilient, confident, undefeatable, optimistic, courageous, brave, self-confident, and adventurous. Who doesn't' want to be all that? You know what? You already are all that! We all have these traits in varying degrees. Some people seem to be born with a dose more than others, some acquired them from childhood challenges or good parenting and some have had to work very hard to learn them and embody them. Society glorifies the heroes that seem to have overcome and defeated huge obstacles, who have stood up to atrocities and personal assaults but the reality is everyday life is an opportunity for us all to level up our invincibility muscle and become heroes and heroines ourselves. We can and should commit to becoming more invincible for the great rewards it will bring us and the great good we can do for others and society once we become more invincible.

2. You will face FEAR and not be overcome by it! Fear is a fact of life. We have it for our protection and our safety and survival. It is our brain's default response to danger but also to change. To our primitive brains, they can be one and the same. Change or something new ( a thought or action) will trigger the same reactions in us that danger does. Invincible people learn to feel the fear and use it to their advantage. They are not immune to it and do feel it just as intensely as others, the difference is what they do with it. They do NOT let it paralyze or derail them. To do that they ask 3 important questions when it arrives, this may be automatic or they may have to consciously work at it. The questions may sound like this :1. Fear- What are you telling me I need to do, think, or get for you to disappear? 2. Fear- What research, support, or information do I need in order to proceed safely? 3. Fear -Should I slow down? Learning these 3 questions will help you transform FEAR into a valuable friend!

3. Optimism and purpose will be your driving force. When you have an inner sense of faith in good outcomes, a dream or goal to strive for you will be more invincible. When you Believe with a capital B that EVENTUALLY your will have positive outcomes regardless of the obstacles, you are on your way to becoming invincible! Again some people are born naturally more optimistic and can do this a bit easier. I believe I have been one of them. But life has a way of dampening that even if you were dealt a double dose at birth. It is a practice that must be cultivated. Let the sun be your example. Regardless of circumstances it always rises. It may not always be shining on you because clouds have cast a layer between you but it will EVENTUALLY come to shine on you again! ( good outcome) You are here to bask in good things that warm you just as much as the sun

They are always there for you! Don't stop believing!

Faith, optimism, hope are all practices of focusing your mind and spirit on possibilities and the promise of good ! You can cultivate it in many ways; mindfulness, meditation, gratitude, religion, questioning and curiosity, and mindset work.

You are here for a purpose and part of that is to become more invincible!

So now that you know what it takes to become invincible ... straighten that cape of yours and seize the day- the world needs more superheroes like you! (cue music) "Don't stop believing..)
